Katherine and Brian Collett have lived in their early 19th-century farmhouse for 33 years, years filled with children (now grown), dogs, cats, ponies, books, projects. Katherine was the college archivist at Hamilton College until she retired in 2020; Brian is a professor of physics there. They are both active in the community, singing together in several ensembles and serving on church and community committees, and Katherine is involved in much political activism. Katherine has recently discovered the importance of native habitat for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife, so she and Brian are working on reducing invasives and planting native trees and flowers on their three acres, once a hayfield but now mixed wildflower meadow, pasture, woods, and orchard.
